Here is a good one. We've been facing with tremendous health problems which most of us are aware that everything is related to what we put in our mouth and how we put them in. I am guilty of so many of these but I just want to share this piece of information to everyone who wants to know the truth and wants to face nothing but the truth.- Eat slowly, chewing food thoroughly. Food should be eaten slowly and should be thoroughly masticated. ( I get heartburn if I eat fast.)
- Eat regularly. (Don't skip breakfast.) Regularity in eating is of vital importance. The stomach cannot properly handle a delayed meal.
- Eat nothing between meals. Never should a morsel of food pass the lips between meals (especially if it only disrupts your desire for the main meal).
- Eat in cheerful surrounding and with pleasant table conversation( it makes you eat more... be careful). A merry heart does good like a medicine.
- Drink water abundantly between meals. Drink freely, it helps to supply the necessities of the system, and assists nature to resist disease. Drink freely of pure, soft water ( no no to flavored ones).
- Use simple methods of food preparation. If you regard your life ( I do....), you should eat plain food, prepared in the simplest manner.
- Use mainly natural sweets instead of sugar. Be moderate in the use of all sugars. (Mmmmn... my mother is diabetic....) The free uses of sugar in any form tends to clog the system, and is not infrequently a cause of disease.
- Use natural foods. Grains, fruits, nuts and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our creator. These foods, prepared in as simple and natural manner as possible, are the most healthful and the most nourishing (compared to those TV dinners and other processed ones... I love them especially when I feel so lazy).
- Cook to preserve food values. There is a way of combining and preparing food that will make it both wholesome and nourishing ( ohh! I need to learn that!). There is such a thing as robbing the body of nutrition.
- Be sure fruits and vegetables are in good condition (but the good ones are expensive. May be I should buy what is in season). More (people) die by eating decayed fruits and decayed vegetables which ferment the stomach and result in blood poisoning, than we have any idea.
