Here is the list of what you will need in case you want to try it yourself:
- 3.5 lbs clean chicken thighs (boneless and skinless)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 medium size yellow onion, cut in tiny rings
- 3 bay leaves
- 6 garlic cloves, freshly minced
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp whole allspice
- 1 thumb-size ginger, cut in tiny strips
- Clean the chicken, remove extra fat and put it in a non stick pan.
- Put all the dry ingredients on top of the meat before adding the liquid ones.
- Mix them with a wooden ladle before putting the lid.
- Cook in medium heat until most of the liquid disappear while stirring occasionally to make sure the bottom part does not get too brown.
- Serve over steamed rice and enjoy!
